Results Interpretation

Score RangeRatingInterpretation
85-100Well BalancedHealthy integration of work and life. Maintain current practices and refine.
70-84Mostly BalancedGood overall with specific areas to adjust. Small changes will have meaningful impact.
55-69ImbalancedNotable gaps between current allocation and desired state. Structured changes needed.
40-54Significantly ImbalancedMultiple domains are suffering. Without intervention, burnout risk is high.
Below 40Critical ImbalanceUnsustainable pattern. Immediate changes and possibly professional support needed.

Burnout Risk Levels

Based on Dimension 4 score:

  • 20-25: Low risk. Healthy engagement and recovery.
  • 14-19: Moderate risk. Early warning signs present. Proactive changes recommended.
  • 8-13: High risk. Burnout symptoms are active. Significant intervention needed.
  • Below 8: Critical risk. Burnout is likely present. Professional support recommended.

Recommendations Based on Scores

For Time Allocation Issues (below 15)

  • Conduct a time audit: track actual time in 30-minute blocks for one week
  • Identify the top 3 time drains that provide the least value
  • Protect one non-negotiable personal block per day (morning routine, evening cutoff, lunch break)
  • Schedule personal priorities with the same commitment you give work meetings
  • Evaluate whether overtime is genuinely required or is cultural habit

For Satisfaction Gaps (below 15)

  • Identify which domain has the largest gap between importance and current investment
  • Reconnect with one neglected activity or relationship this week
  • At work, identify what energizes you and seek more of it (job crafting)
  • Set one monthly personal goal unrelated to work
  • Have an honest conversation with important people about quality time

For Boundary Weakness (below 15)

  • Define your specific boundaries: what time do you stop working? When are you available?
  • Communicate boundaries explicitly to your manager and team
  • Create physical or temporal transitions: change clothes, take a walk, close the laptop
  • Turn off work notifications outside work hours
  • Practice saying "I can address that tomorrow" without guilt
  • If remote, designate a workspace you can leave at the end of the day

For High Burnout Risk (Dimension 4 below 14)

  • Take any available PTO in the near term, even a single day
  • Reduce workload where possible -- delegate, defer, or drop non-essential tasks
  • Reintroduce one activity that used to bring you joy
  • Talk to your manager about workload sustainability
  • Consider professional support: therapist, coach, or EAP services
  • Evaluate whether the role itself is the right fit long-term

Delivery Guidelines

  1. Approach this audit without judgment about work ethic or ambition. The goal is sustainability, not minimalism.
  2. Recognize that balance looks different for different people and life stages.
  3. Distinguish between temporary imbalance (project crunch, new baby) and chronic imbalance (years of overwork).
  4. Acknowledge structural constraints. Not everyone can "just work less." Focus on what CAN change.
  5. If burnout indicators are high, be direct but compassionate. Burnout is serious and progressive.
  6. Frame recommendations as experiments, not mandates. Suggest trying changes for 2-4 weeks and reassessing.

Process

  1. Gather information. Ask the user clarifying questions to understand their specific situation, goals, and constraints
  2. Analyze context. Review the information provided and identify key factors relevant to work life balance audit
  3. Develop recommendations. Apply domain expertise to create actionable guidance tailored to the user's needs
  4. Present structured output. Deliver findings in the output format below with clear next steps
