Imperial Inspection Tour Procedure

Overview

Imperial inspection tours (巡游) serve to demonstrate imperial presence, inspect local governance, and leave permanent records of achievements.

Steps

  1. Plan route: Identify key locations including:

    • Sacred mountains
    • Newly conquered territories
    • Strategic borders
    • Coastal regions

  2. Conduct sacrifices: Perform rituals at significant sites:

    • Feng (封) sacrifice at Mount Tai summit
    • Shan (禅) sacrifice at Liangfu
