Wealth Relocation Strategy

Overview

A procedure for restarting life and building wealth in a new location, demonstrated by Fan Li's transformation into Tao Zhu Gong.

Steps

  1. Leave with portable wealth - Take only light valuables (jewels, precious items)
  2. Change identity - Adopt new name (Fan Li became "Chiyi Zipi")
  3. Choose strategic location - Find "center of the world" with good trade routes
  4. Start with honest labor - Farm and work alongside family
  5. Practice trade timing - Buy low, sell high; observe market cycles
  6. Accept modest profits - Target 10% margin rather than excessive gains
  7. Redistribute when too successful - Share wealth with friends and community
  8. Leave again if too famous - Resign positions, disperse wealth, relocate

"Living at home, one accumulates a thousand gold; serving in office, one reaches minister level - this is the peak for a commoner. Long enjoyment of such fame is inauspicious."
