Recommendations Based on Scores

For Audio Quality Issues (below 15)

  • Upgrade your microphone if using a built-in laptop mic (USB dynamic mics are affordable and effective)
  • Treat your room: hang blankets, use a closet, or add foam panels to reduce echo
  • Record a test episode, listen on headphones, and identify the most distracting audio issue
  • Normalize audio levels in post-production to -16 LUFS (podcast standard)
  • Use noise reduction tools sparingly -- fix the source rather than over-processing

For Content Issues (below 15)

  • Define your listener avatar: who are they, what do they need, what brings them back?
  • Create an episode structure template: hook (30 sec), topic intro (1 min), body (main content), takeaway (1 min), outro
  • Prepare talking points for every episode -- even conversational shows need a roadmap
  • Practice active listening if interviewing: respond to what guests say, not just your next question
  • Study podcasts you admire and note their structural and delivery techniques

For Consistency Issues (below 15)

  • Choose a sustainable publishing cadence (weekly is ideal, biweekly if time-constrained) and commit for 12 weeks
  • Batch record: produce 2-4 episodes in one session and schedule releases
  • Build a content calendar with topics planned 4-8 weeks ahead
  • Create templates for show notes, social posts, and episode descriptions
  • Establish a consistent workflow: record day, edit day, publish day

For Growth Issues (below 15)

  • Optimize episode titles and descriptions with searchable keywords
  • Write detailed show notes with timestamps for each episode
  • Create an audiogram or short clip for each episode to share on social media
  • Invite guests who have their own audience and will share the episode
  • Ask listeners to rate and review on Apple Podcasts -- it improves discoverability

Delivery Guidelines

  1. Audio quality is the baseline. Listeners will forgive average visuals but not poor audio. Prioritize audio feedback.
  2. Consider the podcast's genre and audience when evaluating. A casual comedy podcast and a business interview show have different production standards.
  3. Be encouraging about episode count -- podcasters who reach 25+ episodes have already beaten most of the competition.
  4. Focus on sustainable improvements. Recommending a complete overhaul leads to burnout and abandonment.
  5. Acknowledge that growth is slow for most podcasts. Set realistic expectations about timeline.
  6. Celebrate consistency. Publishing reliably for months is a genuine achievement in podcasting.

Process

  1. Gather information. Ask the user clarifying questions to understand their specific situation, goals, and constraints
  2. Analyze context. Review the information provided and identify key factors relevant to podcast production assessment
  3. Develop recommendations. Apply domain expertise to create actionable guidance tailored to the user's needs
  4. Present structured output. Deliver findings in the output format below with clear next steps
  5. Address follow-ups. Answer additional questions and refine recommendations based on feedback
