Simon believed his good friend Toby had betrayed him, leading to his imprisonment and the car accident that killed his wife and daughter. In fact, it was Toby's daughter who died, and Simon's daughter was taken in by Toby, renamed Emma. After Simon was released from prison, he plotted revenge against Toby, rallying his gang to take revenge on Emma. However, when he arrived at Emma's coming-of-age ceremony, he was surprised to see his wife still alive.
