After ten years of dedicating herself to her family, Hannah's world falls apart when she discovers that her husband, Nigel, has been secretly wealthy all along. To make things worse, he has been neglecting their daughter, Xena, in favor of his unforgettable first love and her son, leaving the young girl heartbroken. Devastated, Hannah decides to file for divorce and leave with her daughter. But Xena, unable to bear the thought of leaving her father, convinces her mother to give him one last chance. When that hope is shattered again, Xena is finally ready to walk away. Only then does Nigel learn the truth, and he is consumed by regret. He longs to be a good father, but for Xena, it is already too late. She has given up on him for good.
