After scoring a last-minute winner in a World Cup qualifier, Team Valoria captain Chase Yates is betrayed by his vice-captain, Toby, and dies on the field. He is reborn as a struggling young man with the same name from the declining Yates family, a football reject with no future. Armed with the memories and skills of a world-class captain, Chase sets out to reclaim glory, restore his family's honor, and uncover the truth behind his murder.
