Dancer Shen Shuyao spends five years hopelessly in love with Xie Jialan. After his adopted sister Xie Xinyan drunkenly injures Shen Shuyao’s leg in a car accident, Xie Jialan suddenly proposes. Three years into marriage, Shen Shuyao discovers the union is a lie—Xie Jialan married her only to obtain a letter of forgiveness to send Xie Xinyan abroad. Even their sole moment of intimacy was secretly recorded for public humiliation. Worse still, the ascetic Buddhist devotee secretly gratifies himself in a meditation room while watching videos of his adopted sister. Heartbroken, Shen Shuyao switches the video at her birthday banquet, exposing his forbidden obsession. She divorces and leaves, beginning a relationship with the heir of an elite family who has loved her for ten years, leaving the disgraced monk consumed by regret.
