Jodi discovered Johnny's legal wife was Elissa, not her. Heartbroken, she planned to emigrate. Elissa taunted and framed her, and Johnny took Elissa's side, hurting Jodi further. As Jodi prepared to leave, Elissa had her kidnapped, and Johnny, misled, ordered her beaten ninety-nine times. While fading in and out of consciousness, Jodi learned her parents' deaths were no accident. She then vowed to make them both pay.
