On New Year's Eve, a mother was alone at home, packing dumplings. Just then, her son had called to say he was bringing his girlfriend home to celebrate the holiday, and the mother had been overjoyed. She hurried out to welcome him. However, on his way home, the son drove recklessly, speeding and hitting an elderly woman before choosing to flee the scene, unaware that the injured woman was his mother, who had been eagerly awaiting his return. By fleeing the scene, the son missed the critical opportunity to save her life.
