After saving the fallen heiress Nina Stone, street vendor Blake Fallon stays by her side and helps her reclaim her success—only to discover she's cheating on him with Hubert Judd. Not only is she carrying her ex-fiancé's child, but she also leaves Blake infertile and causes his father's death by forcing his surgeon to abandon a critical operation. Betrayed and humiliated, Blake teams up with Nina's rival, Lucy Clark, and fakes his own death to escape.
