Leola Dawson comes home from abroad to find her brother engaged to Helen Miller. At the proposal, a terrible mix-up happens: Helen mistakes Leola for someone else entirely, someone her family has warned her about. What follows is cold shoulders and cutting remarks. Leola's brother starts to believe the worst about her. The Millers won't let it go. Then the truth comes out, and suddenly everything shifts. Leola learns she's inherited the family company. Now she has power, and Helen Miller is watching very carefully to see what she'll do with it.
