Milly's marriage to her alcoholic husband Chris collapsed. During the divorce, the gold she brought from her family became a target. Her friend Emma, who had long coveted it, secretly teamed up with Chris. They staged an affair, a fake apology, and even planned a sham marriage in a series of plots to steal the gold. Perceptive Milly quietly uncovered their scheme. She exposed their affair and greed, and revealed the truth. The prized box of gold was merely two small bracelets. In the end, Emma and Chris's plot failed completely, leaving them with nothing, while Milly escaped her unhappy marriage and preserved her assets and dignity.
