A blind woman can see souls. In her last life, she used this gift to crown Leon, who poisoned her in return and left her for dead. She wakes at a royal bride-selection ball to find Leon reborn and indifferent to her. She chooses Duke Silas instead; he's dismissed as a cripple but his soul burns true. Together they'll shape the kingdom, but Leon has been crowned already and he never forgets a betrayal.
