Evan had been sentenced to five years in prison for the tragic car accident that claimed Willow's mother's life. Upon his release, he was diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer, leaving him with only one month to live. During that final month, he crossed paths with Willow again, who was busy planning her wedding.
