Twenty years ago, Marshall Stone was blinded in a car accident and saved by nurse Claire Wynn. They fell in love and conceived twins—until Eleanor Hale arrived, forcing Claire to sign away parental rights when $300,000 for Marshall's eye surgery was demanded. Years later, leukemia-stricken Claire secretly returned as a caretaker. When Lumi humiliated the "stranger" unknowingly and Marshall sensed familiarity, Claire kept silent due to the contract. Eleanor eventually imprisoned Claire upon discovery. The truth unraveled when Callum found the contract and fake "Claire" Elaine confessed. The real Claire died donating her corneas to Eleanor—who finally accepted her as daughter-in-law.
