Isabella, a rabbit, is sold to the foxes by her family. She should marry Prince Alex, but he ran off with a pheasant singer. To survive, she asks to marry Damien, the fox King. Fox nobles, especially their leader Francesca, openly protest, but Damien agrees. She becomes his ally in governance. Francesca and Alex scheme to kill her when Damien is away for battle. Damien rushes back to save her, and she stands beside him at the war against the wolves. As the war ends, they form a real mate bond, and she becomes his real queen.
