Darian, a commoner who had concealed his magical talent, was blackmailed by the corrupt empire and forced into exile on the northern frontier, where he fought brutal battles for five years to keep his wife and daughter safe, and after those five grueling years, he emerged as the most powerful mage and the commanding lord of the North, returning in triumph only to discover that his wife and daughter had been sent to a labor camp by a cold-blooded duke and subjected to relentless torment. Consumed by rage, Darian razed the duke's estate in a single night and now marches at the head of the Northern army toward the imperial capital, where a war of vengeance stands on the verge of erupting!
