As the only daughter of the Murphys, Kaitlyn Murphy defied her family to marry Steven Matthews, who possessed nothing, and soon became pregnant. On her due date, however, her parents died in a car crash while rushing her to the hospital. Though she survived, she lost her unborn child and was left disabled with the mental capacity of a three-year-old. For three years, confined to a wheelchair, she relied on her husband and best friend for care—until a sudden accident restored her sanity. Awakening to the horrifying truth, she discovered her husband and best friend were in an illicit affair, her disability and cognitive impairment resulted from their deliberate poisoning, and even the fatal car crash three years ago was shrouded in sinister ambiguity. Consumed by fury yet steeled with resolve, she began coldly plotting to exact retribution upon those who destroyed her life.
