Lillian, who was suffering from cancer, hid her condition to avoid burdening her family, toiling day in and day out at her son Michael's home. When she finally mustered the courage to remarry Wesley, who had secretly loved her for thirty years, her son and daughter-in-law went to great lengths to stop her, even publicly humiliating her until she coughed up blood and collapsed. Wesley's true identity was then revealed, and he was the founder of a multibillion-dollar conglomerate. Faced with her son's schemes, from insurance fraud to forced marriage, Lillian was completely disheartened, and she resolutely chose to live for herself. In the end, her surgery succeeded, and she spent her remaining years in peace with Wesley.
