The Verbal Spiral is an addictive word puzzle game in the style of ancient mythology and the depths of the sea. You are an argonaut, sailing through a giant whirlpool of meanings to the shining target word at its center. The spiral is made of stone slabs with words, and only one of them on each turn is a true association of the goal. Step on it and the ship will move towards the heart of the funnel. If you make a mistake, the wave will throw you back a turn, but the game will not end: you have three lives, and for a miss you get coins. Distractors are taken from completely different semantic fields, so the path is always decided only by logic and a sense of language. On each turn, exactly one plate is a true association of the goal, the rest are taken from extraneous topics. Your task is to determine the connection by meaning and press the desired tile. Making the right choice moves the ship to the center and gives you points (a bonus for speed). A mistake throws you back a turn, the wrong plate disappears, narrowing the choice, and spends one of three lives — but brings a coin as a consolation. The "Goal" button shows the definition of the word in the center — it helps to think. The Mayak booster highlights the correct turn plate for a moment; several lights are given for free daily, then for watching ads (the game will inform you about this).
