Blocks of Fortune

A crane swings a block above the rooftop. One tap and it drops. Land it dead centre and the tower grows straight, building a combo. Miss by a hand's width and the floor sits crooked - and the lean starts adding up.

About this game

Any block can turn out to be a lucky block, and you only find out after it lands. Spikes shrink the landing area for the next floor, a slab widens it, a tornado adds swing, a coin adds points, a heart gives back a life. The tower is fully physical. It falls from lean, not from height: watch the stability bar and straighten your stack before it's too late. Rings hang on the tower itself - your own record and the nearest rival from the leaderboard. Climb past one and the next player becomes your target. You can quit any time: the tower is saved exactly as it stands, lean included, and the menu offers to continue.

How to play

One control for everything: mouse click, spacebar or a tap on the screen drops the block. Aim for the green zone on the rooftop. Hitting the centre counts as perfect and builds a combo: each perfect landing in a row is worth more, up to eight times. One miss resets it. Miss the tower and you lose a life. You get three, and a heart from a lucky block gives one back. The stability bar sits at the bottom. It shows how far the centre of mass has drifted past the base. When it turns red, place the next blocks on the opposite side to straighten the stack. Let it drift too far and the tower collapses. Esc or the corner button opens the pause menu. Leaving from there saves your run: come back and continue from the same floor.
