Backrooms Escape

You are trapped on Level 0, a yellow maze where the hum of fluorescent lights masks the footsteps of a hunting creature. The game features one procedurally generated level, so corridors and item locations change with every attempt. To escape, find a crowbar, wire cutters, and a note with the door code. Remove the boards, cut the live wires, and unlock the sealed exit. Your compass points toward the exit and required tools, but it cannot guarantee a safe route. Stay close to the light, manage stamina and sanity, use coconut water when needed, and avoid making unnecessary noise. After the code is entered, the door moves and the final chase begins.

How to play

Goal: open the sealed door and reach the exit. Explore the maze and find a crowbar, wire cutters, and a note with the code. At the door, remove the boards, cut the wires, and enter the code. The compass points toward the door and any required items you have not found. Light protects your sanity, coconut water restores it, and sprinting drains stamina. The creature can hear your footsteps, so moving slowly or crouching may keep you safer. Desktop: WASD — move; mouse — look; Shift — toggle sprint; C — crouch; Space — jump; E — interact or use the selected item; 1, 2, or mouse wheel — select an item; Esc — pause. Mobile: use the left joystick to move and swipe on the right side to look around. On-screen buttons control jumping, crouching, interaction, sprinting, and pause. Tap an item slot to select or use it.
