The adventurer finds himself in a seemingly endless tomb filled with all sorts of environments, treasures, and dangers. Each area is broken up into several levels and the goal is to reach the end of each one while completing quests. The hero's stats, keys, and coins are shown around the tops of the screen while any equipped gear appears on pedestals around the bottom. Health is represented by hearts and if the hero runs out, they'll be taken back to the start.
The hero is forced to do quests for a mysterious entity that typically revolves around collecting, destroying, and hunting. While exploring the different rooms, the hero will need to navigate around traps and other obstacles. On his own, the hero is unable to jump over gaps, water, or raised terrain. There are enemies that need to follow the same rules, such as not being able to attack the hero if they're not in their line of sight. However, the hero can defend himself by kicking things which is done by moving him into the target. This is done to break things like pots and defeat enemies.
Throughout the tomb, the hero can find helpful items on pedestals or in shops that will give them access to special abilities like being able to reach across gaps. Other items may be passive and activate on their own such as granting the ability to jump over gaps. Other collectibles include keys which are used to unlock doors and coins which are used to buy things at shops. By completing quests, you'll unlock more items that the hero can use.
