How to play

Nitro Car Racing is a 2D top-down racing game that you can play with the mouse or keyboard. For the former, you'll need to click the onscreen icons located at the bottom left and bottom right parts of the screen using the cursor and Left Mouse Button. Controls Up Arrow - Accelerate Down Arrow - Brake Left Arrow - Turn Left Right Arrow - Turn Right Spacebar - Use Nitro This is a racing game with a series of tracks with differing challenges to complete. The goal is to beat the challenge of each track, unlocking new ones as you do. If you fail to complete the challenge within the requirements, you'll need to try it again. When you spawn onto the track, you'll take control of the red car. The race details such as time, personal best, and the number of laps are located at the top of the screen. After the countdown, the race will begin and you're free to drive along the track however you want. You can bump into cars to overtake them or cut across the non-track areas (at the cost of speed). If you do bump into cars and objects, your car will take damage indicated at the bottom of the screen. The more damage you take, the slower your car will move and the more likely it will be destroyed. The race will end once you have finished all the laps or once the timer has run out. As time passes, your Nitro meter will fill up, and once full, you can use it to gain a burst of speed. There are also collectibles that you can drive into to benefit your car. The N icons will instantly fill up your Nitro Meter, the M will raise your max speed, and the D will repair any damage received to your car.
